01 | I’ve made many variations of sausage and kale soup, but nothing like this one. Kate shared her sausage potato kale soup – hearty, cozy and perfect for these cool nights. *update: this post has been removed, sorry! :(
03 | I’ve seen muuto dots pop up a lot lately, but I think I’m loving this DIY version even more – simple, minimal, and a great addition to any room.
04 | I’m not much of a caramel fan, but I’ll make an exception for this salted caramel filled molten chocolate cake. If you don’t know Izy from top with cinnamon, go check her out now. Her photo styling is impeccable and effortless, her recipes are unique and delicious, she just released her first cookbook, oh and she’s only 18. Talk about insane talent!
Running errands means keeping it casual and comfy, right? For those of you who know me, know I do not like wearing jeans. For one, I can never find any that fit correctly, and to me, they’re just uncomfortable (which may be due to the incorrect fit) either way, when fall and winter come, you will most likely find me in either some jeggings or leggings. But these black madewell skinny skinny jeans have become my go to – it fits, it’s comfortable and a great change from the usual black leggings.
Also, you all know I love my DW watch – simple, classic and goes with everything! Right now you can use the code oh-sopretty to get 10% off your entire Daniel Wellington purchase until the end of November!! #danielwellington
Always love a good sale, and Shopbop is no exception. You can now get 25% off your entire order with the code FAMILY25 (sale ends October 16, 11:59 pm PT). I just got these booties, these slip on sneakers, and these – similar but different color!! Here are my other favorites, let me know yours!!
One of the reasons I’ve been MIA is because I’ve started a new job, which has been keeping me pretty busy. But no complaints here, feeling very fortunate and blessed to have a place to go to everyday. Anyway, working in an office means no more casual mondays for me, but perhaps casual friday?? I remember a year ago I talked about needing to add more black pieces to my wardrobe, and finally it’s starting to trickle in. With this new job, I’ve been looking for pieces that can be dressed up or down – something I can wear to the office as well as out on the weekends, and black is just so classic, versatile and perfect.
A couple weeks ago we decided to take a spontaneous trip out to Marfa, Tx – I mean, if not now, when?? We packed our bags, hit the road, and drove hundreds and hundreds of miles out to west Texas.
When trying to decide where to stay, we were initially between El Cosmico and Thunderbird, but since it was so last minute, El Cosmico was all booked, Thunderbird had a room or two left, so we thought okay Thunderbird it is. BUT THEN, I came across Corte Del Norte and oh my goodness, I immediately fell in love! They have two houses – Rock City House and The Love House. We decided on Rock City House because it was just the two of us, and we wanted something smaller. Wow, what a beautiful space. These photos really don’t do it justice. It’s simple, stylish, and filled with Marfa culture. Really, I could’ve stayed in the whole trip and be perfectly fine.
Our first stop was Prada Marfa of course. I couldn’t contain my excitement, I’ve been wanting to see this art instillation in person for the longest time! Getting a photo of this was worth the entire trip. When we finally got to Marfa, we hit up Food Shark and tried the Marfalafel and a chicken wrap – delish! After walking and exploring, we had dinner at Cochineal – the food, vibe, and people were all amazing! It’s a little pricey, but totally worth it! For breakfast, we started the day with Squeeze Marfa – coffee and chocolate croissants for me! Cast + Crew was right next door to our house, so of course we stopped by once or twice to admire vintage items, neon, and the most beautiful and unique Eames and Bertoia chairs.
Marfa is such a beautiful, unique small town tucked away in West Texas. If you ever have the opportunity to go, I highly recommend it!
Oh hi! Remember me? It’s been crazy busy over here, but I won’t get into it right now. Even though I haven’t been on here, I have been sharing some snaps on instagram. Parc Boutique opened store #2 in Edina, and I could not be more happy and excited for their expansion and success. Since I couldn’t be there for the opening, I sent over these beautiful blooms arranged by my sweet friend Jackie of munster rose – isn’t it beautiful?? We also made a trip out to Marfa, TX, which I will share some photos soon!
I’m hoping for things to calm down a bit soon, but in the meantime, update me on what’s going on with you!
Elizabeth Suzann just released her new FW2014 collection and oh my goodness, I have no words. Influenced by her favorite iconic shapes of the past decades, this collection is filled with high rise cigarette pants, full skirts, cropped turtlenecks, and classic trousers. She had an open house this past weekend and as much as I wanted to fly out to Nashville to try on every single piece in person, all I could do was admire, love and support from out here. I got the Billie Sweater Dress, but believe me when I say I wanted it all!!! Check out the full collection here – you will not be disappointed.
Once again I’ve teamed with with Ashley of Sugar & Cloth and designed some prints for these DIY lunch bags. How cute are they?? And you really could use them for anything – favors, treats, flowers, anything. Tutorial and free download can be found on Julep.
